To send a private message to someone, go to their page under Members.  On the left there is an envelope- send messge.  You can also comment on someone's page- this comment is viewable to all who visit the website but the message is sent to their email and not seen by others.

New profile question

I have added city as a required profile question so that members can specify what  specific area they live in like: North Charlotte, SW Charlotte, East Charlotte, Union County etc.  it will help people connect with others from their area.  This can facilitate area groups forming.  This website can grow to include many areas like SC, Stanly and Montgomery County and Iredell County, etc.  To change info on your profile- Go to: My Page and in left corner, click on Change My Photo.

Transitioning to Living Math

Just when I think I have most of it figured out, my youngest keeps me learning and growing as I struggle to keep up with him and find ways to enhance his natural learning modes rather than try to force him into mine. Actually, I am rediscovering some of my more natural inclinations in learning as I lose more of what I put on in school to succeed and that is a very nice side benefit for me.

We are hoping to go to the beach in September. We will probably incorporate some science (why is the sand hot but the water cold?), perhaps do some shell and marine life identification, etc.
